Journal Entry 4759 Calistril 11th

Once again a rune was inscribed on the memorial statue. It was an O this time and does fit the name of Vesorianna. We have seven days to resolve this. Gregor went to get Father Grimburrow and it was strange that he does not remember coming with us yesterday but agree to help us again. Since we knew where the Piper of Ilmarsh is we went upstairs to confront him. When we got there we were surrounded by 10 shadow bats along with the Piper. It did not look good until Father Grimburrow used his clerical powers and destroyed all but one shadow which we destroyed quickly. Then we gang up on the Piper and defeated him with little trouble. Then Gregor went around the cells looking for undead. Once finding them we open the cell and destroyed them. In the last cell was a shadow of Charlatan the fake priest. We almost destroyed him but he fled and was able to enter Father Grimburrow body. We were than able to knock the father out when he went to attack us. Not knowing what to do Gregor said let’s take him back to the temple. As we were taking Father Grimburrow unconscious body back to the temple. We were spotted by people from the city who thought that Father Grimburrow was dead. Once we got to the temple we ask for help from the acolytes to purge the spirit from him. But, now Father Grimburrow was awake but controlled by Charlatan the acolytes did not believe us but they tried and failed. We decided to bring Charlatan with us back to Harrowstone. Father Grimburrow suggested that we purchase a ring of featherfalling by using temple funds. We did and I agreed to pay the temple back. We headed back to Harrowstone. We decide to clear out the first floor and when we did we found Vesorianna spirit. Gregor talked to her alone keeping Charlatan who was in Father Grimburrow body out of the room. Gregor found out more information about the fire and collapsed elevator shaft. We went back down to the cell below entering thru the destroyed elevator shaft. When we enter the main room which lead to the prisoner areas we were attacked by four more shadow. Than Charlatan cames out of Father Grimburrow shouting warning to Splatterman we were here. The shadows moved in and attacked Father Grimburrow and almost killing him as we were attacking the shadow a powerful magic missile hit Father Grimburrow killing him before he could do anything. Kendra hit Splatterman with a magic missle from the wand causing Splatterman to retreat. The party split up with Hadhod and Gregor going after Splatterman. The last shadow then attacked Kendra almost killing her. We were able to destroy the shadows but Splatterman had retreated behind a portcullis. As we tried to open the portcullis we heard Splatterman laughing as he cut our escape rope in the collapsed elevator shaft room. We tried to get to him but could not and then he knew we were trapped he attacked us. He almost killed the dire wolf and he hit me with some strange vision. That vision was the river was a river of blood and all the fish are dead. As we were trying to get him he just disappeared and after 15 minutes we said we needed to get out. So, I shape changed into a bat and flew up and got the rope attached again so we could escape. We decided to go to Vesorannia and rest in her room she told Gregor she would protect us as we slept. So we did.
